On Feb 1,2013 The Little Bling Shoppe on Madison will close its doors. This is not a case of another Lakewood business gone bad- simply a decison on my part. This was actually my 2nd "in person" location. I have had a website for several years and was trying to see if being in a brick and mortar could be an extension of that. I fell in love with the little pink shoppe on Madison Ave and because the rent was resonable and the neighborhood was charming- I jumped on it. The area is great and I think it will be improving greatly in the near future especially with the enthusiasm of the merchants and the newly designated branding of Uptown Lakewood- however for me this is a financial decision. I have decided that it is more of a benefit to promote my online business from my home studio and travel to do shows and events in the area at this time. Having a store was a check on my bucket list-it was fun and I have learned some very valuable life lessons and some very valuable business lessons as well that I will take with me on my journey. Lakewood is a wonderful place and I hope it continues to flourish and support local business.
And now for my shameless plug: Continue to visit me online at www.reneesrhinestones.com- I will be offering my apparel to businesses as a consignee and or at discounted bulk rates in you are interested in carrying items in your stores. As always I do "custom" work for your businesses or organizations-so please keep me in mind. I will be having a store closing sale the last 2 weeks in January- so stop by! It was so nice to have met some awesome business owners and residents of Lakewood in this short time- Have a wonderful and prosperous 2013 full of "sparkle" and delight!
Yours Truly
Renee from The Little Bling Shoppe on Madison Ave.

Another Madison Avenue Merchant bites the dust! Never made into your shop since it was launched. Hope you continue to sparkle in cyberspace.

Whats going on- (im speaking in general not to a certain person) is this:
People either are broke, dont have time or shop in big box stores-I am a specialty so I dont expect the masses but honestly- I have heard from so many people that said they didnt know I was there- I had a hot pink door and my windows were full of rhinestones and lights-I wasnt there as much as I should of been as life got complicated but still-my shop was hard to miss. If people want a vibrant, financially solvent community to live in- they need to go out and support local businesses if they are able- these business help your community thrive and look better- everyone hates empty storefronts. I wasn't here a long time, but I did make an effort to start visiting other shops and businesses-and I did have to make a point of it to do so. There were so many shop owners and employees that I would talk to and purchase things from or tip well- that never even came by to at least look at my store- Now look Im not being pissy here-Im ok-really but it needs to be said-If you want local you need to support local- at least stop by and see what people have, you find out so many interesting things along the way-and this is true for business owners as well-dont get me wrong some are wonderful-but others would say I dont have time to get there-well I took the time to come see you-help one another-.Take a drive, look around, you'll be suprised what you see and may help someone keep their dream alive in the process- Renee
