Lakewood is a great community - I have lived here since 1975 and find it very welcoming. Being only 10 or so minutes from downtown is ideal and having the Metro parks in our west back yard is unmatched. Local businesses are attractive with many fine local eateries and local merchants who do a wonderful job. For the most part people are reasonable in their approach to life and the local government seems to have a good balance in enforcing reasonable laws.
