A while back I posted about my current yoga pose wish list …
I’ve now accomplished one of them! On Saturday I took a hot vinyasa flow class at Westside Yoga Studio in Lakewood, Ohio. Toward the later half of the practice we did a goddess squat, which is a great hip opening pose and warm up for crow pose, aka. crane. When the instructor said to try crow pose I tried, which I normally do.
Usually I get my right foot up, then try to put my left foot up, have it up for not even a full second and have it fall back down. Something was different this time. I relaxed my hips. Oddly that seemed to give my body what it needed to fully focus on balance. I was up! I was in crow! It only lasted about three seconds but was a major accomplishment for me.
