Cedarwood Gardens Twenty-Twelve #3

I have very little to report here other than to make this statement.

HOLY COW!!!

I'm glad I decided to make my gardening endeavors so public in 2012 because after all of these years, and aside from my broccoli incident, 2012 has been my most successful year yet and by a significant margin.

I have to admit that the weather has played a significant role in the prolific growth and the lack of rain was circumvented through daily watering.

The best example I can reference to show how well this season has been would be the poblano peppers. They should be ready for harvest in the next week or so whereas last year I was not able to harvest these peppers till mid-August.
Another example could be the fact that I have my tomato plants growing to a height of about 8ft tall right now.

As for my other crops, I have been picking beets for the past month on an as-needed basis, tomatoes have been coming in for the past 2 weeks, my potatoes are doing fairly well and should be ready for harvest soon and my peppers, the non bell variety, have been coming in so fast I can’t find enough uses for them.

Also, I have no experience with them but the tomatillos I suspect will be ready in 3 or 4 weeks.

My brussel sprouts will not be ready for another month or two.

To those of you who take the time to read my blog I want to say thank you. It is greatly appreciated and I only hope that you can take something away from it.

I hope you are enjoying your summer as much as I am and good luck with your gardening.

Feel free to stop and say hi sometime.
Sincerely
Brandon E. A. Scullion
