Jim Tressel, the vice president of strategic development for the University of Akron, made a stop in Lakewood on Saturday to help promote the university’s close-to-home advantage for prospective students, as well as the dual-enrollment program or high schools students looking to get college credit. Rick your photo of the moon on 5/5/12 is stunning. How did you capture it so clearly. I was looking out my window last night in awe of the moon. Thanks for sharing your talents.

Lightning struck a house on my street Tues 7/3. 4 fire trucks, 2 police vehicles, 4 ems vehicles show up. My street cannot even accommodate that many vehicles. Is it a slow night in Lakewood or is this the customary response? They had to spill over into a parking lot just to get off Detroit rd.

Thank you Lakewood Patch for putting up the slew of pics from the Arts Fest. Although we weren't able to go I enjoyed looking at them.

Why did most of the cars left early saturday? I worked all day and was so looking forward to seeing all of them! Was very disappointed!

^not sure Carol, but you're correct; many did leave early and most cars were gone before 5:30. The event was scheduled to last until 6pm.

I think they left after the judging, which happened around 4 or so. As a business owner on the street, Crafty Goodness, I was sad to see them leave early!
