Woman Shoots at Would-Be Burglar

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Correction: The attempted burglary took place on Virginia Avenue.

Attempted burglary

A man told police that his wife shot a gun “towards the door” at a man trying to break into their home in the 1200 block of Virginia Avenue at around 1 a.m. June 6. The would-be burglar got away on foot, dashing through the neighbor’s backyard.

Aggravated menacing

A man was charged with aggravated menacing after he got into a fight with another man in the 11800 block of Clifton Boulevard at around 11:30 p.m. June 6 — and said he was going to get a gun.

Drug paraphernalia

A man was charged with dangerous paraphernalia after a traffic stop in the 1400 block of Ridgewood Avenue at around 4:15 a.m. June 6.

Identity fraud

A man in the 11800 block of Edgewater Drive told police on June 6 that someone used his name to fraudulently file tax returns during the past few years.

Will the real owner of Franklin Boulevard please stand up?

An intoxicated man walking along Franklin Boulevard was shouting that he “owned the street,” at around 7:15 p.m. June 6. Officers caught up with him at a home on Ridgewood Avenue and informed him otherwise. He was told to stay there until he sobered up.
