What Should Go Here?
The building at 16900 Detroit Avenue is set for demolition. It looks as if Taco Bell has backed off of its plans, so we'd like to know what you think.
The building at 16900 Detroit Avenue is set for demoliton.
And it looks as if Taco Bell is no longer interested in the property.
However, the property isn't expected to sit vacant too long.
With a prime location — at the corner of Edwards and Detroit avenues, across the street from the YMCA — developers may line up to build at the site.
We thought we'd put Lakewood Patch readers to task: What would you like to see at the site?
Tell us in the comments.

Definately glad to hear Taco Bell is not going there. They should just leave lakewood all together. There food is awful.

There was a plan to expand YMCA parking and build a YMCA daycare center at the site but the Y backed off. The Y currently rents daycare space around town. The idea was to centralize the locations and save on rent and provide 50 parking spots for the Y across the street.
The next best use is for a modern apartment building. Something not as upscale as what is to be built in Rocky River at the site of the old Target but a cut above what is now available on Detroit.
