With a name like “Mr. Inspiration,” you’d expect something special.

Bob Wieland lives up to his name.

The motivational speaker spent Monday at St. Edward High School, first talking to students and then their parents.

Wieland lost both of his legs in Vietnam, just as he was preparing for a career playing professional baseball.

His disability never handicapped him.

Wieland, who been a motivational speaker for the past 40 years, has been named the most courageous man in America and Veteran of the year.

He holds a world record for bench press; he is the only double-amputee to ever complete the Ironman Triathlon without the use of a wheelchair.

And he walked across the United States — on his arms.

Wieland brought his message of strength and hope to St. Edward on Monday night.

It was a similar message he shared with the students earlier in the day.
