Vosh, Lakewood's New Jazz Club, Set to Open

The new bar, owned by Mickey Krivosh and family, is slated to open its doors to the public on Friday.

The front sign is up; the stage is built; and the large doors to the spacious patio finished.

Even the vintage sign from the Detroit Theatre is mounted on the wall.

Vosh, the city’s newest jazz hotspot, is slated to open its doors to the public at 1414 Riverside Drive at 7 p.m. Friday.

“We wanted to create a new environment to entertain blues, jazz, Motown and more,” said Mickey Krivosh, who co-owns the venue with his family. “We put a lot time and effort in here.”

The 5,000-square-foot space was once the shipping and receiving portion of the cosmetics company Bonne Bell.

This isn’t Krivosh’s first go-round at running a business in Lakewood.

He opened Around the Corner in 1975.

Last year, Krivosh and his son, Ryan, bought the Bell family’s popular Three Birds restaurant and changed the name to Georgetown. But the restaurant has kept its reputation as one of the city’s finer eateries.

Vosh will serve up live jazz music, in addition to a few menu items prepared at the adjacent Georgetown restaurant.

The two restaurants will also share a large, lush outdoor patio. The stage at Vosh opens up to a long, oak bar as well as an expansive seating area.

“It’s going to be fun," added Mickey Krivosh.
