Mayor Summers also presented the key to the city to Ken and Kathy Haber.
It was a Lakewood Who's Who at the 4th Annual Mayor's Ball Saturday at the Beck Center for the Arts.
Mayor Michael Summers announced guests, which included city, county, state and national politicians, business and nonprofit leaders and school board members, helped to raise $40,000 for the Beck Center. Tickets were $75, art was being auctioned off all night and three prizes - $1,000 in cash, a diamond pendant and a wine basket - were raffled. Proceeds went directly to the Beck Center.
"Tonight isn't just about art," Summers said. "It's about Lakewood."
Summers also presented the key to the city to Ken and Kathy Haber.
Ken is currently the president of the Lakewood Hospital Foundation board of trustees, and a Lakewood Hospital Association trustee. He has served as president of the Lakewood-Rocky River Rotary Club and the Lakewood Historical Society, and held leadership positions on committees at Lakewood City Schools and the City of Lakewood.
