Thousands came to Saturday's holiday event downtown.
Thousands of people decked the streets of downtown in the Fifth Annual Light Up Lakewood Festival Saturday.
The holiday event, sponsored by LakewoodAlive, went from 5-8 p.m. and featured trolly rides from Lolly the Trolly, an ice carver, food trucks
The Beck Center Youth Choir, Lakewood High School Chamber Choir, the Garfield Music Crew, the Lakewood High School Four Seasons String Quartet and the Lakewood High School Barnstormers Drama Club helped provide live entertainment, and Santa Claus, Buddy the Elf, The Grinch and Frosty the Snowman posed for pictures with children.
Light Up Lakewood was made possible by more than 25 of community groups and organizations in Lakewood — including LakewoodAlive in collaboration with the City of Lakewood, Lakewood City Schools, Lakewood Public Library, Lakewood Masonic Temple, Lakewood Chamber of Commerce, Lakewood Center North Building, H2O Volunteers and sponsored by Lakewood Hospital, Coral Company, Target, Panera Bread and Kidd Productions.
“Over the past several years, Light Up Lakewood has grown into a true Holiday tradition – a not-to-be missed event for our community,” said Tamara Karel, Light Up Lakewood Committee chair.
