'Very Good Outcome' as Standoff Ends on Larchmont Avenue

Police officers from Lakewood, Bay Village, North Olmsted and Westlake responded to a home in the 1600 block of Larchmont Avenue near Franklin Avenue.

A domestic situation on Larchmont Avenue that attracted the attention of the SWAT team and the area media on Wednesday night ended without incident.

NewsNet5 reported that police officers from Lakewood, Bay Village, North Olmsted and Westlake all responded to a home in the 1600 block of Larchmont Avenue near Franklin Avenue.

Sgt. Leslie Wilkins of the Lakewood Police Department told Lakewood Patch that “everything was resolved,” but declined to give additional information.

“It was a very good outcome,” she added.

Police told NewsNet5 that the standoff stemmed from a domestic incident involving a husband and wife.

A woman told police her husband was “acting weird and there are guns in the house.” She left and called police, according to the report. Officers coaxed the man out of the house before 9 p.m. and he was taken to Lakewood Hospital.
