You’ve survived Snowmaggedon, now it’s time to enjoy Mother Nature’s winter wrath.
Bundle up the kids, grab the sleds, and head out for some free family fun at our favorite local sledding hills.
Kaufmann Park: Great beginner hill in Lakewood located behind Drug Mart Plaza.
Edgewater Park: Located off the Shoreway just over the border in Cleveland, this location offers serious sledding for thrill seekers who like the idea of hurtling themselves toward an icy beach and lake.
Memphis Shelter of the Cleveland Metroparks: Located in Brooklyn at the intersection of Memphis Avenue and Tiedeman Road in the Big Creek Reservation, this is a popular sledding spot for all ages.
Westlake Recreation Center: Kids love to be the king of the hill at this popular sledding spot in Westlake located at 28955 Hilliard Boulevard.
Northgate Park: Located off of Colorado Avenue at 2155 Eaton Drive in Central Avon, this city park offers a sledding hill and an outdoor ice skating park.

Check out Cleveland Metroparks website on sledding and tobogganing. http://www.clevelandmetroparks.com/Main/Rocky-River-Reservation9.aspx There are gentle slope hills for kids in the Rocky River Reservation near Big Met and Little Met Golf courses (no charge) and high speed refrigerated toboggan chutes at the Chalet at Mill Stream Run in Strongsville - for a fee.

Awesome hils behind Big Met. Several small areas for the little ones and the main hill is exciting enough for the teens. If you catch them at the right time they also have a fire pit going.

The ones at Mastic Woods are the best. They also have a barrel for a fire.
