More than 180 soldiers returned home from the war in Afghanistan on Friday morning — an entire community greeted them

180 Soldiers from the 112th Engineer Battalion of Brook Park, OH returned and was honored at the Lakewood Civic Auditorium, 14100 Franklin Blvd. The troops were retuning from a year long deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. Friends, family members and the entire community welcomed them home at theLakewood Civic Auditorium.
The troops — with the 112th Engineer Battalion of Brook Park — are returning home from a yearlong deployment in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.
With a police escort from Cleveland Hopkins Airport, the troops rolled into town on four large buses before arriving for the packed house ceremony honoring them.
There, family members greeted them with cheers, flags and warm hugs.
