Snapshot: Film Wraps Up Shooting in Lakewood
The local film "Cleveland, I Love You" finishes shooting on Giel Avenue over the weekend.
It's a wrap!
The crew, for the film "Cleveland, I Love You," shot its final scenes in Lakewood over the weekend.
The film — which began filming in Cleveland this past November — features ABC's Cougar Town star Busy Philipps and NBC's Community star Gillian Jacobs.
The crew spent its last day of production at an "undisclosed location" on Giel Avenue.
The final vignette, one of 11 that make up the film, was directed by Amy Tankersley Swinderman and featured local news icon Leon Bibb of News Channel 5 and Brendan Potter (Inglourious Basterds).
Several scenes have been shot in Lakewood since the beginning of November.
Producer Eric Swinderman said he was pleased to use Lakewood as a backdrop for much of the film.
"Lakewood is a great community, very picturesque," said Swinderman. "The people and the businesses have been extremely supportive and accommodating."
Stay tuned for the film... It will also feature other Lakewood locations, including the Lakewood Public Library, Jammy Buggars restaurant and the Drug Mart on the west end of Detroit Avenue.
The film is now in post-production and the producers are planning a fall release.
