Several Gunshots Reported on Cove Avenue

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

 

Gunshots

Residents reported hearing several gunshots in the 1300 block of Cove Avenue at around 1 p.m. Sept. 21. One man was spotted running north from the train tracks. A Lakewood Patch reader commented that there were seven people waiting at the bus stop at Clifton Boulevard and Cove Avenue who “heard it all.” “Then at least five Cleveland and Lakewood police cars arrived and we were asked by an officer if we saw three men with hoods running.” Police are investigating.

Petty theft

An iPad was reported stolen in the 16400 block of Detroit Avenue at around 5:30 p.m. Sept. 20. 

More petty theft

Two ladders were reported stolen from the backyard of a home in the 1200 block of Summit Avenue at around 10 a.m. Sept. 21.

Not the best place for a nap

A man was charged with disorderly conduct after he was found sleeping on the front steps of Dollar Bank on Madison Avenue at around 11:45 a.m. Sept. 21. 

Grand theft

A vehicle was reported near the 12200 block of Clifton Boulevard at around 10:40 p.m. Sept. 21.

Drunken driving

A motorist reported a man driving recklessly in Lakewood at around 3 a.m. Sept. 22. Police caught up with the man and charged him with operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Copper pipe stolen

Copper piping was reported stolen from a home in the 1500 block of Warren Road at around 8:45 a.m. Sept. 22.

Walk, don’t run

Debris was reported in front of Lakewood City Hall at around 2:15 a.m. Sept. 23. The debris in question was the remains of the new crosswalk sign that had been “run over numerous times.”

Burglary

A resident in the 14900 block of Clifton Boulevard reported a TV stolen sometime during the morning of Sept. 23.

Looks like the policy of citing the landlords for nuisance properties is working to lower the crime rate, huh??.......Good job, Lakewood..........You used to be a nice place to live.....now you are becoming the westside's answer to East Cleveland.............
