Saluting a Fallen Firefighter in Lakewood

In Lakewood, paying tribute to fallen firefighters is a tradition.

Firefighters recognized former Lakewood assistant fire chief John Kilbane as his funeral procession passed the fire station on Saturday.

He died on Jan. 9 at 82 years old.

That was beautiful and very touching. What was on the top of the fire truck hanging in the air? An American flag?? Would be nice to see a couple of pictures closer up. Thanks.

This was a touching and heartfelt tribute to Asst. Fire Chief Kilbane and his family. It shows respect and reminds us that the Lakewood Fire Department is truly a "family" within itself. These men put their lives on the line every time they go out on a call and they all deserve respect and recognition for what they do! God bless them!
