In hot pursuit of a stolen pizza

A pizza delivery driver told police that pizzas were stolen from his unlocked car while he was making a delivery in the 11700 block of Lake Avenue around 8 p.m. March 7.

The delivery driver followed a group of people he thought took the pies all the way to the Cleveland Memorial Shoreway, where he lost sight of them.

The restaurant didn't want to file a complaint.

Watch what you smoke — and drink

Police assisted an EMS crew at the Lakewood Dog Park at 1699 Metro Parks Drive for a man who had been drinking beer and cough medicine around 5:30 p.m. Feb. 28. The Rocky River man had also been smoking a legal substance, called Super Kush — obtained from a Lakewood store — and he said he was not feeling well. He waited for his mother to pick him up — along with his dog — at the dog park.

Grand theft

A resident of an apartment building at 17529 Madison Ave. told police Feb. 27 that his car was stolen from the parking lot.

Snowballs tossed into traffic

Police received a call of a half-dozen middle-school-aged children throwing snowballs at passing cars on Madison Avenue between Westwood and Rosewood avenues around 3 p.m. Feb. 28. When police arrived, the snowball-tossing kids were gone.

Pit bull found

A woman in the 1100 block of Warren Avenue told police March 4 that she found a dog she believed to be a pit bull. The dog is a mixed-breed white, weighing about 30 pounds. The woman said she would keep the dog in her garage for the night.

Compiled from police reports.
