Pizza delivery driver follows people who stole pizza from his unlocked vehicle.
In hot pursuit of a stolen pizza
A pizza delivery driver told police that pizzas were stolen from his unlocked car while he was making a delivery in the 11700 block of Lake Avenue around 8 p.m. March 7.
The delivery driver followed a group of people he thought took the pies all the way to the Cleveland Memorial Shoreway, where he lost sight of them.
The restaurant didn't want to file a complaint.
Watch what you smoke — and drink
Police assisted an EMS crew at the Lakewood Dog Park at 1699 Metro Parks Drive for a man who had been drinking beer and cough medicine around 5:30 p.m. Feb. 28. The Rocky River man had also been smoking a legal substance, called Super Kush — obtained from a Lakewood store — and he said he was not feeling well. He waited for his mother to pick him up — along with his dog — at the dog park.
Grand theft
A resident of an apartment building at 17529 Madison Ave. told police Feb. 27 that his car was stolen from the parking lot.
Snowballs tossed into traffic
Police received a call of a half-dozen middle-school-aged children throwing snowballs at passing cars on Madison Avenue between Westwood and Rosewood avenues around 3 p.m. Feb. 28. When police arrived, the snowball-tossing kids were gone.
Pit bull found
A woman in the 1100 block of Warren Avenue told police March 4 that she found a dog she believed to be a pit bull. The dog is a mixed-breed white, weighing about 30 pounds. The woman said she would keep the dog in her garage for the night.
