Man Threatens Girlfriend With Sword, Arrested

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

 

Domestic violence

A man was charged with domestic violence after he tried to attack his girlfriend with a sword in the 13700 block of Madison Avenue at around 1:30 a.m. Nov. 24.

Suspicion

A man in the 14600 block of Armin Avenue found a man inside his parked van at around 2 a.m. Nov. 20. When the owner of the van confronted the man, he took off running. 

Burglary

A woman in the 2200 block of Northland Avenue found two men inside her home “going through the closet and drawers” of her bedroom at around 10 a.m. Nov. 20. The men ran out the back door. Police are investigating.

Arguing over a shovel

Police were called to the 1300 block of Giel Avenue where two neighbors were in an argument over a shovel at around 1 p.m. Nov. 21. 

Large fight

Police responded to a large fight, involving as many as six men, in the parking lot of the Burger King on Detroit Avenue at around 6 p.m. Nov. 21.

Burglary

Electronics and jewelry were reported missing from an apartment in the 1200 block of Fry Avenue at around 8:30 p.m. following an apparent break-in.

Drug abuse

Two teenaged girls got into a car with a man in the 1400 block of Ridgewood Avenue where they were all smoking marijuana at around 7 p.m. Nov. 21. All three of them were cited for drug abuse. 

Domestic violence

A man was charged with domestic violence in the 1400 Newman Avenue at around 6 p.m. Nov. 22, after police received a report that a man and a woman were fighting each other.

Burglary, assault

A man told police that another man carrying a knife broke into his home and assaulted him in the 1300 block of Cove Avenue at around 6 a.m. Nov. 23.

That domestic violence one....I remember all the police here. They just moved in, too. Sucks. I don't know why people have to put their hands on other people. It's just not right.
