LOOK: Gypsy Beans Opens at Beck Center in Lakewood
New coffee shop’s second location opens Wednesday; grand opening set for Thursday.
The new Gypsy Beans coffee shop was packed for its first day in business on Wednesday.
It was good timing, because many of the patrons were without power.
The coffee shop officially opens its doors— on the campus of Beck Center for the Arts — on Thursday.
Gypsy Beans replaces the Beck Café, which closed its doors last month. It’s Gypsy Beans’ second location, with the original located in the Gordon Square Arts District at W. 65th Street and Detroit Avenue.
“I was beginning the search to expand the Gypsy brand when the opportunity at Beck Center presented itself,” said owner Nicole Gillota in a news release. “I’m pleased to be located in Lakewood, especially within another arts community.”
Billed as a traditionally styled European coffee house and bistro, Gypsy Beans offers locally roasted coffee, as well as pastries and desserts, focusing on fresh, local and seasonal ingredients.
In addition to metered street parking, free onsite parking is available in the lots east and south of Beck Center’s Main Building.
Gypsy Beans at Beck Center hours of operation are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
