Lakewood Woman Was Target of ‘Murder-for-Hire’ Plot
A 23-year-old Trumbull County man arrested by federal authorities, the Plain Dealer reported.
Federal authorities say that a Lakewood woman was the target of a 23-year-old Trumbull County man’s “murder-for-hire” plot, the Plain Dealer reported on Friday.
Andrew Martin, a nurse at the Cleveland Clinic, was arrested after authorities say he agreed “to pay a patient to kill a 79-year-old woman over a dispute involving the ownership of a Clifton Boulevard home,” the Plain Dealer reported.
According to an affidavit — filed by an agent of the the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives — Martin told a patient that he would pay him $10,000 “to put four in her head and make it look like a robbery.”
Martin was charged with “use of interstate commerce facilities in the commission of murder-for-hire.”
He is scheduled to appear in US District Court in Cleveland.
The US Attorney's Office provided Lakewood Patch with a copy of the affidavit. See the attached document for more.
