Lakewood Voters to Weigh Charter Change
Council OK's a measure that will be put before voters to change the city's charter, that officials say would align the filing deadline with the county board of elections.
Lakewood voters will consider a change to the city's charter that, if passed, would align the city's filing deadline for elections to municipal offices with the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections.
That's after Lakewood City Council OK'd the proposal at Monday night's meeting.
Mary Louise Madigan, council vice president, said the filing deadline would be 15 days earlier to conform with state law.
"Because this item would change the charter, the measure will be now be placed before voters," she added.
The item will appear on the ballot for the Nov. 6 election.

Agreed. At the last ballot we had what 3-4 charter changes. Focus in on what really matters here in Lakewood, Does anyone remember or care what the last one's really did? Or is it all just busy work??? Do something constructive to Lakewood for once. City Council, leave the busy work at home where it belongs.

Please use time more wisely. Leave Charter alone.
