Lakewood Schools to Get More Than $117,000 in Casino Taxes This Month
Schools will be receiving the first set of casino tax payments in January.
Lakewood City Schools will soon receive more than $117,000 in taxes from the state’s new casinos.
Figures for this first set of payments were released earlier this week. The Plain Dealer reports that the state is passing out more than $37.9 million in casino taxes to schools and districts across Ohio. Schools will receive their payments—based on enrollment — in January and August each year.

The Lakewood City Schools will receive about $117,519 and the Lakewood City Academy will receive about $3,304, according to information on the Ohio Department of Taxation's website.
Cuyahoga County schools, including charter schools, will receive about $3,648,751 total.
