Drunken Woman Tries to Pick Up Child From School

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

 

Early dismissal? Not so fast

A “highly intoxicated” woman tried to pick up her child early from Harrison Elementary School on Oct. 3. Police had other ideas. The woman and child were released to a sober man.

Man falls out of third-floor window

A man was taken to the hospital — with unreported injuries — after he fell from a third-floor window of an apartment in the 15600 block of Madison Avenue at around 1 a.m. Sept. 27. 

Grand theft

A vehicle was reported stolen from the garage of a home in the 1200 block of Warren Road at around 3:30 p.m. Sept. 27.

Shoplifting

A woman was arrested and charged with shoplifting at the eastern Discount Drug Mart on Detroit Avenue at around 7:40 p.m. Sept. 27.

Menacing

A woman was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and aggravated menacing after she threatened to shoot her ex-boyfriend in the 1600 block of Lakewood Avenue at around 11 p.m. Sept. 27. 

Theft

A man was charged with petty theft after he was caught stealing two pork loins from the Aldi’s on W. 117th Street at around 11:30 a.m. Sept. 28.

Stolen gas

Police caught up with a man accused of driving off after pumping $66 worth of gasoline into his tank at the GetGo on Detroit Avenue at around 8 p.m. Sept. 28. The man told police that he had a medical emergency and went back to pay for the gas. 

Disturbance

A woman told police that someone threw — or shot — something at her car window as she was driving in the 1600 block of Larchmont Avenue at around 8:40 p.m. Sept. 29. She reported that her window was shattered. The occupant in her car “chased the kids” over to Cordova Avenue.

Fight with a hammer

Two men were reported fighting in the 11800 block of South Lane Drive at around 4:30 a.m. Sept. 30. One of the men had a hammer, according to the report, but officers were unable to locate him.
