Doghouse Closes; Storefront at Marc’s Plaza Vacant
Best-known for its various adaptations of the hot dog — including the Chicago-style dog and corn dogs — the Doghouse recently closed its doors.
After four years in business, the Doghouse 2, a popular takeout restaurant specializing in Chicago-style hot dogs, has closed its doors.
The storefront in the Marc’s Plaza at 14877 Detroit Avenue has been vacant since.
Employees at neighboring businesses said they weren’t sure why the business closed last month.
“I just don’t think it got that much traffic,” said one of the neighbors.
Best-known for its various adaptations of the hot dog — including the Chicago-style dog and corn dogs — the Doghouse opened in Lakewood in 2009.
It was the company’s second location; the other one is located in Cleveland Heights.
