Copper Pipes Stolen From Couple’s First Home

The following arrest information was supplied by the Lakewood Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

 

Burglary

A couple, who just bought a home in the 2100 block of Belle Avenue on Nov. 19, found that the house had been stripped of its copper piping at around 5 p.m. Nov. 29, just days after they got the keys. Other items were also reported stolen. Police are investigating.

Drug abuse

A man was charged with driving without a license and drug abuse following a traffic stop in the 2200 block of Arthur Avenue at around 3:15 a.m. Nov. 27.

Lost car?

A man called police and reported his car stolen from the street, where it was parked near the intersection of Cove and Lake avenues. At around 8 a.m. Nov. 27. He called back and reported that he found the car.

Disorderly conduct

A man was cited for disorderly conduct, and released to “a sober adult,” following an incident in the 12500 block of Clifton Boulevard at around 11:15 a.m. Nov. 27.

Purse theft

A man ran into the Caribou Coffee, snatched a woman’s purse and ran out of the coffee shop at around 1:45 p.m. Nov. 27. He ran west on Detroit Avenue but police caught up with him moments later and took him into custody.

Burglary from unlocked home

A home in the 1500 block of Newman Avenue was reported burglarized at around 2 p.m. Nov. 27. A video game system as well as several coins were reported stolen from the home, which was left unlocked.
