Alfred ‘Freddie’ Paul, Lakewood Resident, Dies at 85

Paul was a WWII Army Air Corp veteran and was the union president of Local 217 UAW of Tool and Die Makers.

 

Alfred "Freddie" A. Paul, the union president of Local 217 UAW of Tool and Die Makers, died Jan. 22.

He was 85.

The Lakewood resident was the long-time companion for 47 years of Joan Perotti (deceased) and her son John W. Perotti; dear brother of 12 deceased siblings, Mary DiMarino (Nunzio), Ann Greiner, Alva Kleckner (Chikey), Dante Paul (Helen), Ida Trainer (Tom), Paul Polidore (Johnny), Stella Vasey (Ralph, surviving), Emma Thacker (Denver), Irene Jenkins (Arthur), Florence Halener (Moe), Edward DiGiamarino (Genevieve), and Olga Polidore; uncle and great-uncle of many.

A funeral service is set to take place at 10:15 a.m. Jan. 26 at St. Christopher Church in Rocky River.

Calling hours are set to take place at Busch Funeral Home in Fairview Park from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday.
